On Canada Day the Greely Lions made a cheque presentation to Victoria's Quilts. Victoria's Quilts delivers personal quilts at no cost to individuals suffering from cancer. The quilts provide both temperature and emotional warmth to those going through some of their worst days. The Greely Lions would like to thank everyone who stopped by our Fries for Charity stand at the Greely Community Centre on Canada Day. Sadly, rain forced us to close early, but we still collected $1538 in the short time that we were open. 100% of the funds will be used in our charitable work. Special thanks to Al Graham and all the businesses that support the Fries for Charity trailer.

Thank you everyone who purchased flowers during our Greely Great Flower Basket Event. Funds raised from the sales will be used to support our work in the community.

Greely Lions Cheque Presentation to 1st Greely Scouts at the Winter Carnival 2026
In February, the Greely Lions presented a cheque to the Ottawa Therapeutic Riding Association of Ottawa-Carleton (TROtt). The donation will allow 3 low income youths with special needs to participate in a block of therapeutic riding lessons.
The Greely Lions presented a cheque to 1st Greely Scouts at the Greely Winter Carnival in January. Due to the efforts of their many supporters and leaders, the 1st Greely Scouts are once again back in the community. The Greely Lions look forward to working with the Scouts over the coming years.
The Greely Lions were pleased to assist the Greely Legion with a cheque for $500 to help defray the costs of providing services to veterans. For information of the Greely Legion, its events and how to donate, visit their website.
Greely Lions Cheque Presentation to the Greely & Osgoode Youth Association
For more than 35 years, the Greely Lions Club has been a pillar of generosity and community spirit, giving back over $1 million to local charities and organizations. Their mission is close to the heart - to support our community, our youth, and our seniors -and they continue to make a lasting difference right here at home.
Thanks to the ongoing support and generosity of residents like you, the Greely Lions are able to continue their work helping those who need it most. Guided by Lions Clubs International’s mission to empower volunteers, meet humanitarian needs, and promote peace and understanding, the Greely Lions focus their efforts on three key areas:
- Supporting elders – including the Osgoode Care Centre
- Supporting children and youth – through sports teams and youth programs
- Supporting the wider community – by organizing and contributing to local events
Recently, the Greely Lions made a donation to the Osgoode Youth Association, using funds raised from the annual Charity Golf Scramble. Lions Steve Slack, Richard Popp and David Frost presented the cheque to Carley Scharf (3rd from the left). Thank you to all that participated in the Golf Scramble and to Carley and her team for their work helping the Greely and Osgoode youth.
